Netizens side with Kirron Kher’s comments on the Lavani dancer

Many who are seeing the video are saying that she is right. They feel a person is not being authentic when one combines Lavani with something like twerking. Some days back, a video of Nora Fatehi doing the Water Dance also went viral. People had called her out for vulgar dance on national TV.

This is what netizens had to say on the same

Kirron Kher tells the dancer that she gave a fab performance on Lavani. A user commented on the Scoopwhoop post, “She is not against twerking. She is against mixing twerking with lavni. Lavni is a very dignified dance form and it doesn’t feel right to mix it with a dance which has sexually suggestive moves.” Others said that people who gatekeep “purity” in art are laughable. The comment read, “Do not try to shame people who are trying something different. Everyone has a different interpretation of art and challenging or altering art is something commonplace within art itself. Don’t shame the artist if you disagree with the art.”

Some were of the clear cut opinion that twerking is a vulgar form of dance. It is very popular in the West. We have seen Cardi B, Megan The Stallion, Beyonce and others do it with flair.
