Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: It’s been almost a week since actor Gurucharan Singh, known for his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi in Asit Modi‘s show, went missing. On April 22, 2024, the actor was supposed to take a flight from Delhi to Mumbai. However, he never boarded the flight and has been missing since that day. When his family couldn’t reach him even after a few days, his father lodged a missing complaint with the police on April 26, 2024. While various speculations have surfaced regarding the reason behind his sudden disappearance, it is also stated that the actor was dealing with depression. Actor Samay Shah, who has played Gurucharan Singh’s on-screen son in the Asit Modi show, revealed that the actor was indeed battling depression.

Was Gurucharan Singh battling depression? On-screen son Samay Shah reacts
For those unaware, Samay Shah and Gurucharan Singh share an adorable off-screen chemistry as the duo played the roles of father and son on-screen in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah until Gurucharan bid adieu to the show. In an interview with the Indian Express, Samay stated that he had a conversation with Gurucharan about 4 to 5 months ago. Reacting to whether the actor was dealing with depression, Samay stated that during their last phone conversation, which happened 4 to 5 months ago, Gurucharan sounded pretty normal.
Samay mentioned that he was his usual self, happy and jovial. He said it is hard for him to believe that Gurucharan was in depression; however, as one cannot predict what goes under a human’s mind, he cannot be very sure about anything. Samay stated that while he feels that Gurucharan was not facing any mental issues, he stated that maybe Gurucharan’s family or close friends know what was exactly happening in his life.
Samay stated he hopes to meet Gurucharan soon and pray that wherever he is, he is happy and safe.
