Recently, his wife, Sutapa Sikdar, took to social media and penned an emotional note on his fourth death anniversary. Sikdar shared her reflections and imagined conversations that would take place if the actor were with us in the present.

‘I lived with him more’ : Sutapa Sikdar on husband Irrfan Khan’s death anniversary

In her emotional post, Sikdar reflected on the profound impact of her husband’s passing and the void it has created. She wrote, “It’s 4 years three days since Irrfan left me. Four years? A feeling of guilt sweeps through my body. 4 years we have LIVED without him added with sadness, fear, hopelessness, and severe helplessness. And then I thought but still I lived with him more. I knew him since 1984 so that makes it 36 years of knowing him more and definitely till I die I would have spent more time with him then without him. And then I thought if he was with me physically in 2024 what would have been our conversation like? Because that’s the most I miss,” she wrote.

Despite the overwhelming grief, Sikdar found solace in the memories of the 36 years she spent with Khan, having known him since 1984. Sikdar also shared a heart-touching visualization of the conversations they might have had if Khan had still been alive. She imagined him engrossed in reading, petting their cat, and expressing his admiration for Diljit Dosanjh’s latest performance in the film Chamkila, as well as his wish to collaborate with Malayalam cinema star Fahadh Faasil.

Alongside Sutapa’s tribute, the couple’s son, Babil Khan, also honored his father’s memory with a series of photographs. He also expressed a heartfelt commitment to continue fighting for the values Irrfan taught him. He wrote, “You taught me to be a warrior, but engage with love and kindness.”

The death anniversary has stirred emotions and drawn responses from fans and fellow artists worldwide. This showcases the enduring impact of Irrfan Khan’s legacy on the film industry and beyond.
